Trip to Boston

(click on the pictures for a bigger version)

We just spent 10 days at Nana's house in Boston and had a great time. The weather could have been better, we thought we were in Belgium in the winter with a lot of rain but we got to meet Peter's (Mike's best friend and Claire's godfather) fiancee Popi and hang out with all the 'Greek friends'.

When we showed up in Boston, none of our suitcases had made it there. We did get them the following night (it seemed they went through Orlando and Colorado !?!?). The next day we met with all of Mike's childhood friends at Spero and Barb's for a BBQ and a swim. The kids (who had met 2 years ago) got along immediately. We met Popi, Peter's fiancee and learned that they wanted Claire to be a flower girl in their wedding which is taking place on Nov. 30.

We then met on several occasions with the 'Greek clan' at Spero and Barb's, the restaurant, George & Maria's.

We got Claire fitted for her flower girl dress. She is so excited, she has been asking if we were going to the wedding all the time since then...

We took the girls to the Boston Children's Museum.

We went geocaching in NH one day. Nana actually ended up staying in the car with Claire who had fallen asleep...

John. Marife, Brett & Mason came for the weekend. The girls had a lot of fun playing with their cousins.

Busy 4th July week...

(click on the pictures to see a larger version - videos will be added soon so check back later )

This week was the girls' last week at the Montessori School for the Arts. They just finished a 4 weeks summer camp and are now home till mid-August for Emilie and beginning of September for Claire.

Mike's brother, John, drove down from PA on Wednesday with 2 of his kids, Brett and Mason, and his wife Marife. We took them to the beach, the Air Force Armament Museum, had s'mores one night, there was some wrestling action going on... The girls loved it!

The girls finished their swimming lessons and did awesome. We may sign them up again for one more session next week.

On the 4th July, we went out for breakfast and then we met the Ready family on base for a BBQ and to watch the fireworks. The Less joined us there. The girls ended up watching the fireworks from their boat while the guys were smoking cigars by the camper. It was a lot of fun!

John left on Saturday morning and we invited the Hubert family for dinner in the afternoon. We were stationed with them in OH. The kids, especially Emilie and Gunnar had playdates together. Reese and Claire were just babies at the time. It was really good to see them again!

So today, we are just spending a quiet, relaxing day at home.
